THE ARDECHE - A WILD SWIMMERS PARADISE
A visit report by Rob Fryer

I've just got back from a holiday in the Ardeche (central south France). There are some excellent swims in the Ardeche River itself, under the huge natural stone arch the Pont d'Arc for instance, but there are even more swims in the Ardeche tributaries:
The Baume, the Chassezac, the Ceze and the Gard/Gardon. Here are some snaps of them. The choice of swims is endless. In particular Collias & Mazet Plage (Casteljau) are excellent.

The fast water pool, just one of the many features of Collias. 154
By Mazet bridge, Casteljau, just one on many swims on the Chassezac. 170
By Camping Les Actinidias, Casteljau. 174
